Farm Fresh Goat Milk
We sell goat milk, raw/unpasteurized, here at the farm only.
Prices are:$2.00 Quart / $4.00 Half Gallon / $8.00 Gallon
You should call first to check availability. 24 hour notice is appreciated.
We prefer you to bring your own containers. We store our milk in half gallon glass canning jars.
Regular customers can purchase jars from us or elsewhere. When you purchase milk we will
simply exchange jars. If you prefer another type of container we will transfer it while you wait.
Glass is preferred since it is easiest to clean and sterilize.
The key to keeping goat milk tasting good and fresh is keeping it cold. If you have a distance to travel we recommend
you bring a cooler or other container to insulate your milk. Store milk on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator and
never let it sit out for long. Milk should remain fresh for at least a week.
We milk our goats from kidding through December. Production tends to drop off in fall so there is less milk available at
that time. Kidding generally starts in March. Milk is usually available 2-3 weeks afterwards.
If you wish to pasteurize the milk yourself it is easy to do. Heat the milk in a double boiler to 165'F
(stirring constantly) and hold for 15 seconds. Chill quickly to keep flavor.
